The Power of Music by Jada Woodson.
Music; vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.
I believe in the power of music.
The most common things people say about music is that it’s calming , or it makes them happy. But for me it feels as if music enters my brain and puts my mind on autopilot taking full control of my body. Music holds a bond that connects people in different ways, for example the way music affects me might affect someone else differently. This makes me wonder, how do people interpret music? do they only hearing music? Most people hear music on the radio while driving, cleaning, or working. They only accept music as an item to distract their mind. However, what they don’t understand is the actual depth of the message in music that singers try to share. In other words, there’s more to music than what people hear, if people can slow down for a few seconds to process the words, melody, and how the instrumental music shifts it will change their thought of the entire song.
When music would come on the radio, for example a song I know I would say the words but I really didn’t understand what they mean. Until my mom stopped me and told me to listen to the words, at that moment I learned that music was more than sounds , it was the message the singer is trying to send and the instrumental music carries the tone of the song. Today when I listen to music I can understand what the singer is trying to say. Now I constantly have music around me, whether i’m making it or listening to it. This makes me realize that my life is basically a musical, as I was told by my mom I was able to sing before I could speak in complete sentences.
I believe music has the ability to affect people once they’re able to stop hearing it and listen to its true meaning.
